Some Information On How To Replace Lawn Tractor Tires

When it is time to change your lawn tractor tires most people have companies and suppliers change them out for them. However, anyone who owns any lawn care equipment should know how to change their own tires out. Just in case those places are closed whenever you need them.

To change and replace your lawn mower and tractor tires yourself you will need a screwdriver, valve stem tool, protective padding and some soapy water, preferably in a spray bottle. Once you have your supplies you can begin to jack up your piece of lawn care equipment.

The first step is to jack up your lawn tractor and remove the axle pins. Then remove all of the air out of your old tires which can normally be done by pulling down the valve. Sometimes the tire can stick to the rim so you may have to pry it off with some leverage.

Next the protective pads have to be replaced on the rim of your lawn tractor’s tires. Take the tire irons out and place them above the tire rim. With the use of these tire irons, usually three of them, you can then make the bead free from the wheel. Remove the top and bottom bead, and then clean the tube with the soapy water in your spray bottle.

The final step is to put your new tractor tires on. Seat all of the beads, and install the stem. After inflating your new tires, you can mount the tire to complete the tire changing process. Having a friend or professional help out with your first installation will eliminate any chances of a mistake being made. Mistakes on tire replacement could be unsafe and could put you in danger.
